What is Film??

Film is a type of photography that is taken and sent off to get developed. Some photographers also develop their photos themselves!

What Makes Film Special? It has a unique aesthetic. Film images often have a rich, organic look with natural grain, soft tones, and dynamic colors. The process is physical and deliberate. You can’t immediately see your photo like with digital cameras, which makes shooting film slower but more intentional. Film can be versatile. Different film stocks create different looks for your session. For example, some have bold colors, others softer pastels, and black-and-white film gives timeless, classic images.

In essence, photography film is the original way pictures were captured before digital cameras. It’s a blend of science and art that many people still use today for the timeless quality and tactile, hands-on experience.

The reason why I added it to weddings and other sessions is because I wanted to provide a special and unique experience for my clients!

What is Super 8?

Super 8 is a type of motion picture film format. It is important to know both the SUper 8 and film have to be sent off to get developed . This might take longer but it is SO worth it!

Why Is Super 8 Special? Super 8 is often celebrated for its vintage charm and organic feel. Its soft textures, film grain, and distinctive look evoke nostalgia, making it a favorite for music videos, short films, and even commercials. For many, it represents a tactile, creative filmmaking process that feels different from shooting digitally. It’s a format with a rich history and a unique place for professional film culture.

The reason why I wanted Super 8 is because Digital video captures the day but Super 8 captures the emotions and feelings! It is so important that your wedding day can be relived when watching your film!
